Evidence based Health, inspired from Evidence based Medicine-what we follow to treat patients based on the best available science combined with the healthcare professional’s clinical experience and the patient’s values to arrive at the best medical decision for the patient.

Evidence based Health follows the same principle by combining the best available scientific explanations with evidences to support or oppose a health information and individual preferences to arrive at the best advice for the individual.

What are these Evidences?

Health evidence is sorted into six levels:

1.Level 1A: Meta-analyzed results from well-designed trials: Strongest evidence. Meta-analyzed results are nothing but the conclusion we come down to after analyzing multiple studies that were previously published on a particular topic.

2.Level 1B: Single well-designed Randomized controlled trial:
A Randomized controlled trial is a study where participants are randomly assigned to treatment or control group, ensuring unbiased evaluation of treatment effectiveness.

3.Level 2A: Non- randomized controlled study: Less strong due to potential bias.

4.Level 2B: Case-control or cohort study:
A case control study compares people with and without a condition for associations. And a Cohort study is an observational study following a group over time to assess outcomes.

5.Level 3: Non-experimental study: Includes case series.

6.Level 4: Expert opinions: Insights from respected authorities based on their experience: Weakest evidence.
